Clam Festival Parade 2014

As it does every year, the Clam Festival kicked off on Friday at 6pm with a parade through town. The theme this year was Famous Mainers, and we had the best seats in the house on the bleachers at the Godowskys.

Somehow, even with our VIP seating, we didn't catch a glimpse of Judd Nelson, Stephen King, Anna Kendrick, Bob Marley or Rachel Nichols. As you can see, Charlie and Violet were not impressed with the lack of celebs.

And there I was, looking my best, hoping to meet Patrick Dempsey and all I got was a cardboard cutout on a small business float.

Once we got over our disappointment, we found plenty of interesting things to watch.

Like Bulldozer the dog.

 Fire trucks, of course.

Kora and clowns and sometimes Kora Clowns

Things that will bring nightmares.

Tiny trucks, although they weren't as abundant this year, unfortunately.

A new entry this year, the flukes! (Falmouth Library Ukulele Ensemble)

This guy who was pure magic.

Tiny horses, because why not?

And it wouldn't be a large public gathering without one of these.

The kids loved every moment,

and when it was all done we packed everyone up and walked home.
